Purpose:
CardLab Verity card has an integrated bistable E-ink segmented display with the primary purpose to show an OTP value once the fingerprint has been verified. 6 – 8 digits can be shown in the card display which then can be tapped into any logon platform.
Fingerprint and personal data are stored on the card only and the card identity is known by the backend system and can beset up to be a time or event based issued One-Time Password.
Each code is created directly on the card by combining a securely stored hidden secret with the current time, derived by an on-board quartz crystal. No phone, app, or network connection is needed to make the code.
Because the codes are constantly changing and expire quickly, the risk of theft or reuse is significantly reduced.
The card has an onboard battery and activation switch for the user to decide when to activate the card for fingerprint verification.
The time where the code is valid can be programmed according to the normal use pattern.
In addition to the display the OTP code can also be transmitted via NFC
